What is therapy?

Therapy is an effective way to address your thoughts, feelings, and relationships. It offers a secure environment to confront challenges, develop coping skills, and enhance your mental well-being. If you're facing difficulties in any of these areas, taking the step to pursue therapy can be a powerful choice for your growth.

Do you offer couples or child therapy?

Currently, we specialize therapy for individual adults. Although we do not offer services for children or couples at this moment, we are happy to assist you in finding other resources if needed.

How do I start?

Our Contact page allows you to email us directly and provides our contact information. We offer complimentary 30-minute consultations to help assess whether our services meet your needs, discuss fees, and arrange initial session.

What will my first session be like?

Your first session is an opportunity to connect with your therapist and start your assessment. Your therapist will guide you in discussing your current mental health needs, goals, and any personal or cultural considerations, ensuring that your therapy is tailored for you.

Is therapy private?

Yes. Everything you share is private and kept safe using a HIPAA-compliant system. There are a few legal limits to confidentiality, which we will explain during your first session and in your paperwork.

How do I know if therapy is working?

Therapy is working when you notice positive changes in your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, or relationships. You might feel more able to cope with stress, make clearer decisions, or handle challenges in healthier ways. Progress can be gradual, and it’s normal to have ups and downs, so checking in regularly with your therapist about your goals can help you see your growth over time.

What makes a good therapist?

Your therapist helps to create a safe and supportive space where you feel seen, heard and respected.  You should feel that your therapist understands you, helps you grow, and supports you at whatever step you’re on in your journey.

How can I make the most of my sessions?

Therapy works best when you bring it into your everyday life. Try keeping a journal, setting small weekly goals, and checking in with your progress before each session. And don’t be afraid to be honest with your therapist—even about things that feel uncomfortable or tricky—so we can support you in the best way for you.
